Jesus replied,
“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.
My Father will love them,
and we will come to them
and make our home with them.
(John 14:23)
Many people know God's teaching, but only a few obey it.
Here is one man who obeyed what he learned from the Bible and experienced God's wonderful blessings.
He simply obeyed God's commandment: Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself.
We say we love God.
However, we don't love our neighbor.
Well, we love our neighbor up to a point.
The problem is that is not what God wants.
God asks us to love our neighbor without limit.
Such love requests sacrifice.
Can I sacrifice myself for my neighbor?
I doubt it.
I really doubt it.
If so, can I say I love God?
To love God and to love my neighbor is not a separate issue.
If I say I love God, I should love my neighbor.
I absolutely love God, but to love people is difficult.
God who gives generously to all without finding fault,
I am not capable of loving people.
Please let your love overflow inside me so that I may love people with your love.
